Twilight Tranquility

Snow and ice are very much in evidence here still covering up the pond, though it's pretty much melted off the grass in Northeast Ohio, at least for now.

A couple of contemplative cattails salute the setting sun.

Of the many moods of the Dreamkeeper Pond at Mapleside Farms, peacefulness ranks high and comes in a variety of colors. Yesterday evening featured a wintry blending of peach-orange, brown, and grey.

Lovely photos and a lovely pond! We still have lots of snow and ice here too. My husband and I went walking for a couple of hours this past weekend at one of our fav. spots near our home. It was great that we could still walk across frozen beaver ponds and navigate wetlands that normally are just well too wet to get across. It is supposed to warm up in the next few days so I'm afraid these days are behind us until next winter.

Thank you for leaving such wonderful comments on my blog. Much appreciated!!

Beautiful pictures! I hope your snow stays away for you as I know that you are ready for spring.

I think this is why you are a "real" photographer and I'm not :-) How on earth did you find two perfect cattails to frame that sunset?? Lovely! Awesome shot. All the cattails I see are ratty and half gone at this time of year.

Beautiful photos! Getting good - and dramatic - sunset shots is one of my passions. Nice job.

Wow--what gorgeous photos you took, CD. I especially love that 2nd one with the cattails. That one needs to be framed.
Hugs,

Teresa Mallen: The experience of walking across a frozen beaver pond must be absolutely thrilling -- I've never had that pleasure, but wish I could. It sounds as though you'll miss winter as much as I will.

Thank you for stopping by. I just love your art blog, for its informative articles (my favorite so far being critique theory) as well as its visuals.

Jane: Hmmm, well most winters I make jokes to the effect that you shouldn't confuse me with the Queen of Narnia even though I LOVE snow! (Grew up in the Buffalo, NY area, and lived through the Blizzard of '77 don't you know, guess that explains it.) This year was so cold for so long that I suppose I won't mind TOO much if spring comes. As long as it snows a whole lot next year! Thanks for your kind words. :-)

Mary: Having seen your photos, I'd definitely call you a real photographer! We just each specialize in different subjects. I'm glad you photograph birds and animals. My poor camera isn't quite up to that unless I happen to run into nice big critters that don't move too fast.

Montanagirl, Deer Passion, Betsy from Tennessee, Janie: Thank you all very much for the kind compliments! I truly appreciate your support.
