Okay, I Admit It – I Am the Queen of Narnia!

There is a whole lot of blogging going on by sons of Adam and daughters of Eve about how they simply cannot wait for the arrival of spring. The first day of spring for 2009 is March 20th. Currently, it is only March 7th. That gives us a lucky 13 days to enjoy the continuing majesty of winter!

I mean, how can you not love the barrenness of this tree??

All right, so maybe some of the natives are getting restless. These deer are really battling it out ... over a tiny pile of breakfast feed!

Now we all know the warning about March, how it comes in like a lion. We also know how dangerous lions can be. I say, we should all just enjoy the snow, live happily ever after in our never-ending winter, and have a nice piece of Turkish Delight.

Feel welcome to leave a comment in my winter realm. Keep in mind that anyone mentioning spring, flowers, or lions just may find themselves turned into a statue of ice!

Beautiful photos that show winter at its very best - although, I'm sorry, but I'm still delighted that spring is finally here. I'm hoping your powers don't work at long range!

Love your winter photos! The shot with the streetlamp is outstanding in its composition. The lone tree shot is very nice too...and the deer!!! What can I say. Great job, and thanks for sharing.

Have I told you, CD, that I LOVE winter--especially the snow???? AND--have I told you that we got almost no snow here this winter???? Sniff Sniff... And now that it's almost ................... Well, still winter, I am still hoping for some of that white stuff. (We've been known to have it in April on occasion.)

Never heard of Turkish Delights...

Have a great WEEK.
Hugs,
Betsy
P.S. Notice that I didn't mention that 'other' word??????? Yeah for me!

Absolutely beautiful photographs! I'm kind of jealous tho because we didn't have much of a winter this year, hence no pretty snowy photographs! Great job tho! :)

I won't mention the "word", but after having 8 inches of snow last weekend, it is 70 degrees here today!!! Like it or not, the seasons they are a-changing.

Great photos, especially of the deer locking horns. Hey, I'm fine with winter. I love all the seasons and enjoy every one of them. Funny how humans always seem to want what they don't have. When it's winter we want spring. When it's summer, we want fall. Etc. Human nature is fickle.

J: Indeed, China is a long ways from Narnia ... But close enough for me to peek in from time to time and take a look at your blog. Thank you for your visit to my last bastion of winter!

Montanagirl: Thank you so much for your fine appreciation of nature's coolest season. I will be visiting your realm soon to see what you have to share ... :-)

Betsy from Tennessee: Hopefully next year, if not this April, you will find snow as far as the eye can see. Never heard of Turkish Delights? Why, they're the most tantalizingly delicious sweet in the world ... some might even say they're "enchanting." In fact, you deserve an EXTRA portion of Turkish Delight for not mentioning anything to do with the possibility of upcoming dreaded heat. (Refer to C.S. Lewis's book "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" for more details.)

Deer Passion: Even without snow, winter can still be beautiful. Definitely more of a challenge, admittedly. You've captured beautiful nature photos in your part of the world, and I look forward to enjoying many more.

NCmountainwoman: I hope you were able to sufficiently enjoy your brief taste of winter with your visiting friend and look forward to your pictures of the Golden Girls in the snow!

Janie: Great to see another winter lover. Personally, when it's winter, I want winter. A pretty winter. And find myself explaining to people exactly how thrilling it is to photograph the great outdoors in the cold, ice, and snow. I'll grant that a drab winter of brown and grey can start getting tedious.

When it's summer, I tend to hide inside with the air-conditioner and dream of winter! People think I should get out there and enjoy the heat, but I guess I'm just not made to be like other people.

Dani: Well, as long as Aslan stays in California ... :-)

Tina: Thank you for the compliments. Turkish Delight? The most exquisite delicacy when it comes to sweets, so enticing that you just can't stop eating or wanting them ... You'll just have to try for yourself, you're welcome to as many as you like! (Refer to C.S. Lewis's book "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" for more details.)

Okay, I don't mind the snow - its the high heat bills that have been too much. Usually we have relief by now ...

Your photos are beautiful. Enjoyed your encouragement - thanks!

I bow before you, my Queen! Thanks for the lovely pics and homage to a glorious season. I love each season as it passes.

Mary: Snowball fights can be very good exercise. I like your idea!

Connie: I definitely agree with you that lower bills would be welcome at any time of year.

EcoRover: Thank you for visiting this winter realm, you are most welcome here!
